Moving

On Thursday the 23rd we left Peniscola  and headed to Alicante but it would be a very long and hungry time if we didn't have a stop on the way for lunch.

So we had our stop at Calpe. It is a very famous tourist spot! There we had an ICE CREAM and a sandwich.

When we were there we saw a HUGE rock that I really wanted to climb! Then it was time to hop back in the car and drive to Alicante.

When we fiiiiiinally got to Alicante we had a little look around the place before going to our apartment!

When we got inside we saw that it was HUGE I loved it.

The next day.

Today.    We went to the castle at the top of Alicante it was huge and half of it had been destroyed by a bomb.

We thought it would have took them forever to build.

Afterwards we went to the beach where Esther and I played in the sand. We did that until it got dark.

The End.

Not the end

On  Saturday the 27 we  packed up (again!) and drove to Granada. We stopped at a place called Salobrena. We had a walk around then continued on to a place called Almeria. We had lunch at the beach. Esther and I played on the swings.

After awhile we went back in the car and drove to Granada!

When we got there we parked the car and got a taxi to drive us to our apartment. There where so many people there!

When we got there we found our apartment and had a look around the town. We saw this huge castle palace thing and walked around these squishy alley ways !

Finally we went home and to sleep.

The next day we went to the palace. We saw a million gardens and listened to an audio guide about it.

It wasn't what I expected, not as good as the first castle but still pretty good!

After the castle we went to these gypsy caves outside the city. They were really cool. I liked seeing what was in every cave!

When we left we had a lemonade, some beer for the grownups and some cous cous at a bar.

Next we went to our apartment for a little bit and then went out to dinner. We got tapas and some drinks!

The next day we went to Chiclana!

We were going to Chiclana, but on the way we stopped at Estepona where we had lunch.

While we where there, we had a nice play on the beach. Esther and I played on a playground.

After a while  we got to Chiclana.

We found our apartment which was a little tricky but we got there in the end.

We had a look inside and got our room ready took our shoes off and relaxed.

But after like 5min  we had to put them back on and go to the shops to buy stuff for dinner.

We had wraps and went to bed.

The real today.

Today we woke up and it was bucketing so we rushed to the car and drove to Conil.

In Conil we looked for real estate agents to help us find a house so it meant walking  to agent to agent to agent.

We couldn't find a house though so we moved on to Barbate.

We tried a couple of real estate agents and found one who had a house we could get she showed us the pictures and we decided  to meet her there at 4 O'clock, so we roamed the town while we waited. We played on the beach, watched a surfing competition from a cliff and found a school.

I loved it. It was amazing. I was really happy about it.

But when it was time to see the house it all changed...it was very ugly! But of coures we didn't say it out loud.

After the house we had to go home.

The next day we woke up with a friendly surprise Daddy had found a house in Conil!

But there was a twist we had to see it at 6pm! So we headed to Cadiz !

It was a huge drive so an hour in we stopped at Rota to have a break from the car there we had a play on the beach.

When we had enough we continued to drive to Cadiz!

When we got there we drove to the old town were we went to this castle which was for free. It was good-ish and then when we were done, we had a another look around old town and saw a cool cathedral that we couldn't go in.

Then we went to Conil to see a house that we might live in!!!

I thought it was good it even had a place were we can go on the roof that was my favourite part.

When it was done we went home.

Today we  went to the beach to have a play on the beach. We dug this huge hole and made a obstacle course out of sand!

We couldn't stay long because we had to pay a check thing for the house we saw yesterday. We got it but we can't move in yet.

After a bit at home, we went to the car and drove to Vejer.

At Vejer we saw this castle and walked around town (it was really pretty with the blue sky) we even saw molinos (windmills from 19th century )

It was cool but we had to go home after 2 hours  because it was getting late:(

The end!

  2. Yep! Essie beat me :) What a great blog Astrid! So many interesting places and wonderful beaches. I love the photos of Alhambra. It looks magnificent and the views are extraordinary. Those Gypsy houses are fantastic too and Conil looks so cool. Hope you're successful in finding a place there as I reckon it will be a brilliant place to live. Won't it be great to not have to pack and unpack every few days! We are having very Summery weather at home with a bit of a heatwave on the way. I expect Conil will be very warm in the Summer by the look of all those tropical plants. Missing you heaps! See you soon :) Love Nana and Farber.

  3. Hi Astrid,

Sounds to me that you might be going to settle in for a while. It is going to be interesting to become part of the community where you are living. Make some local friends to hang with and so on.
Meanwhile we are in the middle of showing the house to some potential new owners. This is not a nice task. The house is like a museum, not a speck out of place anywhere which means we can’t live in it very much. We have two more weeks left of this part of the process. Hmm🤨.

Lots of love grandma and me 😘
